Has anyone got thoughts on bolstering WBC?

Jane takes a lot of "maintenance" supplements such as Reishi, but I would be particularily interested in those that had a low and then recovered due to a supplement/drug. We have used Neulasta but that gives with one hand and takes with the other (WBC goes up, reds and platelets go down).

Jane, for no apparent reason, has a severe WBC drop this week even though it is an "off" week and she is well past the Nadir. I think it might be an infection lurking somewhere... the onc thinks we have just hit her so hard lately that unexpected troughs are inevitable (of course he is probably right).

It looks like a B12 deficiency has induced the low blood counts.

From the researching on the net it seems that if there is a B12 deficiency causing the low WBC the blood report will likely mention elongated or enlarged red blood cells.

Jane is on a vegetarian diet and has not had much of an appetite of late, she will have a B12 shot prescribed by our oncologist and administered by our local doctor today. It will be interesting to see if this turns things around and how long it takes to do so.
