We all know that the awareness of the disease affecting all who post here is next to nothing.........so.......if you are in Brisbane and want to make a difference.... read on.

The Brizbrain Research Foundation is holding a Brain Tumour Awareness Walk to launch Brain Tumour Awareness Week. Who knows, maybe someone with the final say will see this and make a difference.

It is in Brisbane October 31st in the River View Zone at New Farm Park.

The people running the walk are part of the team responsible for my wife's (Heather) care and have helped us greatly on our year long journey.

If you are interested and in the area you can go to
www.stickytickets.com.au/4456 or www.bbsresearch.com.au and register before October 27th. The cost of the walk and all the details are on either of these two sites, or send me a private message and I can email you the brochure.

I hope this an appropriate thing to post.....sorry if it's not!

What a darn shame. I wish I could have made it out to the walk. Not only is it too late, but heck, I don't even live in Australia. Is this an international organization or one solely in Australia? If it's international, I wouldn't mind looking for walks in the United States. In fact, I'm gonna get to researching. Thanks for keeping everyone posted! :)

I am pretty sure that it is International Brain Tumor Awareness Week. The walk was great, over 100 people turned out on a beautiful day to make a statement. Sufferers, carers, families and friends all walked in "our" colour - orange! It was a sea (albeit a small one) of orange shirts and caps turning heads and raising awareness. Get behind this cause and help the next person. A good example of "pay it forward"
