Jane had a case of shingles the last two weeks. Shingles are a resurfacing of the Chickenpox virus, it can remain dormant for life or strike whenever the immune system is suppressed.

It manifests as lots of coffee bean sized blisters and is extremely painful. A unique feature is that it is uni-lateral, that is it will only appear on one side of the body (Jane's went from the spine through and above the left hip to the abdomen).

Prior to the surfacing of the blisters Jane had many deficits that looked like symptoms of tumour progression, memory, balance, speech, lethargy and pain were all effected. (Scans however were showing nothing).

After two weeks of an antiviral treatment Jane is doing really well, she has recovered from all of these deficits.
