If I want to try an alternative therapy that is offered in another state, is there a way I can stay there somewhere during those weeks/months?

To my knowledge some hospitals have facilities (eg. group house type set-ups) where patients can stay during chemo and radiation and they have nurses there to monitor patients response to treatments and see to their medication needs etc. They are most likely only available via private hospitals but I'm not certain on that. Others may care to advise what they've been offered or have done under such circumstances.

Regarding "alternative therapies", there would only be such a live-in or shared accommodation type facility if those providing the "alternative therapy" provide it themselves. Otherwise you could try a serviced (furnished) and self-contained 1br apartment on a short-term rental basis but they are not cheap.
