I have just been diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme grade iv. I wonder if anyone knows what germisnocytic features mean. It is on my histo report. 'Pleomorphic cells with scattered tumour cells showing germinocytic features.
Thank you
I'm so depressed don't know how I am going to cope

Megan,
Sorry can't help with definition of "germinocytic". The pathology reports are very technical and hard to understand. You may need to sit down with your neurosurgeon, oncologist or pathologist and ask him/her to explain all the terms.
My wife was diagnosed with GBM last March. It was a hell of a shock, still is really, but the good news is that it is treatable with conventional treatment and there are other complementary treatments you can do to help the healing process, incl diet, supplements, meditation and visualisation.
Don't give up hope, there are people out there surviving GBM way longer than the original prognosis given by their doctors.

Hi,
My husband was diagnosed this August with an anaplastic astrocytoma grade 2/3 with gemistocytic features. When I researched that, it just described the shape of some of the cells that they found in the tumor. I don't think there is anything concrete to derive from that as far as prognosis goes.
Hope this help,
Julie
