Diagnosed with three different types of brain tumors

Post by monablue » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:01 am

October 27, 2011 a CT scan revealed a 2 cm meningioma in the right parietal lobe. An MRI on October 28 showed a 1.7 cm tumor around the pituitary gland in addition to the meningioma. Met with the neurosurgeon on Nov. 3 and he said he found a small tumor in the bone at the base of my skull. Said not to worry about that one at the moment, just watch it. The one that concerned him was the meningioma. It was not causing any symptoms. It was found when my primary doctor ordered a baseline CT, not expecting to find a tumor at all. Surgery to remove the meningioma was done Friday, Dec. 2. Was released from the hospital on Sunday, Dec. 4. No pain after Saturday morning while in the hospital. Off work for 6 weeks. Have been back at work starting January 16, 2012. This week is the first week that I have not had the fatigue that was so prevalent the first 6 weeks.
Tumor was slow growing and benign, will check by MRI in April. Meanwhile still watching the other tumors also.
